LJUBLJANA-SKOFJA LOKA-KRANJ-JEZERSKO-LOGARSKO DOLINA-LJUBNO-KAMNIK-LJUBLJANA 168KM, 4-8 days

This was my first tour I put together in Slovenia. I’ve done it several times with my regular bike and several times with my E-bike. Lots of great side tours including museums, hikes, waterfalls, great a great restaurant and the best brewery in Slovenia.

KOMOOT ROUTE MAP

SKOFJA LOKA: 25km from Ljubljana. I lived in Skofja Loka for 2 years, It claims to be the oldest village in Slovenia, but so does Putj. The museum is a must visit. You would have to visit multiple museums in Ljubljana to see the variety of history, art, nature and culture that you can see in this castle museum.

LOGARSKA DOLINA-Luče-CAMPING NATURPLAC: 49 km from Jezersko + 14km if you visit Logarska Dolina waterfall. It’s a tough day, but the best day. Get an early start & bring some snack or a lunch.
Logarska dolina waterfall is 7 km from the main road. I’ve locked my bike at the ranger station and hitchhiked to the waterfall trail head, easy to do. The barista at Rinka waterfalls has drinks & snacks. It is run by one of the funniest people in Slovenia, worth the hike.
Luče have dinner at Gostilna Pr’Lampi
CAMPING NATURPLAC This is a special place in Slovenia offering both camping and glamping. Breakfast available.

KAMNIK: 33 km from Camping Naturplac. Another beautiful old town and castle museum.
ACCOMMODATION: Hostel pod Skalo offers private apartments with a SUPER buffet breakfast. Camp Resnik offers camping right across from Hostel pod Skalo. I stay at the camping and enjoy the buffet breakfast.
FOOD OPTIONS: Korobač offers meat & vegan options! Great local place to meet locals. Fish Farm Mihovc offers fresh fish from their on site pond.
SIGHTS: Maister Brewery Best beers in Slovenia. They host a local free pizza party, usually on Fridays.
Swimming at the Olympic size pool next to the campground.

They’re working on finishing a proper bike lane from Kamnik to Ljubljana. They’ve finished the Domžale to Ljubljana route, but the Kamnik-Domžale is still unfinished at this time. I recommend taking the train from Kamnik back to Ljubljana, it cost less than 5 euro.
