STILL ALIVE AND TOURING A NEW SLOVENIAN BIKE TOUR

I was wrapping up my past life in the USA, this spring, for 3 months. I’ve been back a couple months and have done several Slovenian bike tours. I repeated one of my regular routes: Scoca Valley: Kranjska Gora, Bovec, Kobarid and Tolmin.
Then I went to Zagreb to see Amyl & the Sniffers. I went to Vienna last year, but Amy got sick and the show was cancelled. I got an AIRBnB that was just 400 steps from the venue. As a super fan, I went early to the sound check and met Amy! I also went early to the show and was only 3 rows from the stage. But the mosh pit, got too crazy so I bailed after 45 minutes.

AWESOME NEW SLOVENIAN BIKE TOUR: TOURIST FARM WEISS

Slovenian trains now go all the way to Zagreb and back! I took the train from Zagreb to Trbovje. Discovered Tourist Farm Weiss, that was 1/2 way to my destination, Logarska Dolina Valley. I didn’t realize how beautiful the ride was until I left the farm. Hence, I didn’t take many or enough photos of the route. Realizing how awesome the ride was, I started taking more photos.

THERE’S MAYBE 1 KM OF GRAVEL GETTING TO THE FARM, (BUT WORTH IT)
Tourist Farm Weiss has super affordable accomadation with an option to camp. If you’re looking for a place to finish a book and enjoy local cusine, this is the place. I had a nice bed and super breakfast all for under 40 euro, cheaper if you’re camping.

THE ROADS CENTER WAS A PERFECT BIKE PATH!

The route takes you through Luce. Be sure to stop and have the local dumplings at Gostilna Pr’ lampi. I get the mushroom ones. The route ends at DOM PLANINCEV LOGARSKA DOLINA. The affordable rooms are the best value in the Logarska. Camping is not an option in the valley. There’s a great waterfall hike in the area, Rinka Waterfall.

NEXT:

I spent 3 months in America and I survived! I stayed with friends, did a farewell car tour of Oregon’s best places & ate at many of Oregon’s signature restaurants. Doing a 3 months blog takes time. The photos are downloaded and I’ve started doing some of the writing. When it’s done I promise, it will be good.
I’m heading out on Aug. 25 to NE Slovenia, for a quick bike tour and concert in Ptju. I intend to spend most of September visiting my favorite places in Slovenia (which is all of them).
STAY TUNED
