After riding the toughest ride of the trip and then relaxing oceanside in Sarande, I got invited to KSAMIL ISLAND by four French tourist. They invited me to stay at the French residence, OK, I’m there.
THIS IS THE.ROAD TO MY HOTEL IN SARANDA, (rumor is they’re going to pave it soon).
I ride out of town and see some of the same style rugs I saw in the museum in Vlora.
THIS ONE IS 100 YEARS OLD (Natasa likes it!)
The riding is again virtually car-free, where is everyone? The views are amazing (again)
I never found the French residence, but a women who earlier stopped on her scooter to tell me about her camping place. I rent an apt. For $12 and for the first time on the whole trip
I DID THIS LAUNDRY BY HAND (I knew I could) JUST HAVEN’T.
I missed the French residence but I meet Vincet (French) at the campground.
THIS IS EARLY MORNING, LATE OCTOBER!
We talk about meeting up later, I’m taking a different route to Greece.
SACKING UP SUN DRIED CORN FOR WINTER
THE ROAD TO GREECE WAS LOW TRAFFIC AND BEAUTIFUL
THE FEW GUARDRAILS THEY DID HAVE WERE NICE STONE
MADE IT TO THE BORDER.
I intended to take the bus from the border, so I cross the border check only to cross back again to Albania, no bus till morning.
The sun is going down fast, I grab a hotel room at the gas station, actually a very nice room with WiFi.
I´m going to make a separate post for “FINAL THOUGHTS ON ALBANIA” (right now)
Thanks for reading
