Help! the Beatle Tribute band was playing in Kranj. Since it was biking distance, I reserved a night at the hostel (13 euro with breakfast). When I lived in Skofja Loka I had biked to Kranj maybe 20 times.

It’s KranFest, so there’s lots of stuff going on in town, beach volleyball! yea baby. I’ve been to several of the museums already, I did find a few that I hadn’t seen yet. I walk the town and find the “nickname” for Kranj-Kranjsterdam!
I met a family on their first family bike tour- quite the set-up.

The Beatles songs are so well written and easy to sing along with. One of the best things was seeing the young people singing and dancing to all the songs. It gives me faith in the young generation.
WATCHING THE YOUNG PEOPLE DANCING WAS SO AWESOME (2 mins in)
I’ve been to Kranj many times but had never visited the “Bomb Shelter Tunnels.” There’s a 3 euro tour at 10 on Sunday, how wrong could it go? I go. The tunnels were used during WWII bombing raidds, it was a shelter for up to 5,000 people.

The hotel next to me in Ljubljana, said they had a golf course. The bike path went right by it, so I stopped for lunch on the way home.

Traveling by bike is an awesome experience. Fresh air, exercise, meeting people & exploring places where you feel connected. I’m planning more bike-festival tours, my calendar is full.
Remember to ride your bike for you and the planet.
Ride On,
Jeff
